Easton Haven Stem
Here's a bit of all-mountain bike bling that's hard to ignore. The Easton Haven Stem has the highest stiffness-to-weight ratio of any stem Easton's ever produced. That's saying a lot for a label as legendary as Easton.
They achieved this by CNC machining away a huge amount extraneous alloy at the steer tube end of the stem, leaving behind a steerer clamp that's just as sculptural as it is structural. The machine work at the handlebar clamp is what Easton calls Top Lock, where it's designed to be assembled in a certain way. The uppermost portion of the clamp should be tightened first, actually "locking" the top portion together. Then you'd proceed to torque the lower two bolts to spec. This perfect match of the faceplate against the stem body better distributes clamping force, and reduces any excess load on your bars due to uneven clamping pressures which can cause damaging fatigue.
Without getting lost in all this talk of amazing strength, the Easton Haven Stem is ridiculously gorgeous. It may just be a stem, but you can tell Easton's engineers and graphics teams suffered to make this one shine.
The Easton Haven Stem is made of Easton CNC Aluminum. It's available in 55, 70, 85, and 100mm lengths with an oversize 31.8mm clamp diameter. It fits 1-1/8" steerers and has a 0° rise. Color options include Gloss Black and Magnesium.
