Descente Free Ride Glove - Men's - 2009 BCS
Descent designed the Men's Free Ride Glove for the guy who values control over all other aspects of the ride. Being able to receive trail feedback through the bar is key in maintaining control, so Descente gave the Free Ride Glove a thin leather palm with strategically placed padding that softens impacts while maintaining bar feel. Breathable mesh panels allow air to flow through the glove to cool your hand, and areas of non-slip silicone keep your paws firmly attached to the bike.

Luckily I bought 2 pairs a few years ago. It has been the best buy ever, but sadly Descente doesn't produce them anymore. After 2 years (about 10.000 mtb kilometers) one pair is almost finished. It's time to start using pair nr. 2. I would happily pay 3 times the price if Descente started producing again.
Tighter fit than most

I take a small size in gloves and the small sized Descente Free Ride was good for finger length, but a little too tight around the hand circumference.
I'm breaking (stretching) them in. After a couple of rides, where they were initially a little tight, they are starting to fit better. However, this is putting strain on some of the sewn seams.
Sizing of the Descente Free Ride is definately smaller than 6-6-1 gloves, which fit my shorter fingers / broader hands perfectly in the 'small' size.
The Descente Free Ride seems to be well made, with good reinforcing and light mesh between the fingers for breathability.
Recommended if you have slimmer hands.
Sizing is small

I normally wear a medium because smalls are usually just a bit too tight so I ordered this glove in a medium. The glove was so small I couldn't wear them. Smaller than most of my small sized motocross gloves. I will be returning to get a set of size large. That being said, these gloves were very comfortable with the padding in all the right places and I was enjoying them before my hands started locking up. Can't wait to use a pair that fits.
Good first impression!

Very sturdy feeling glove! Also very snug at first, but that's welcome with the lack of a wrist-fastener. Unusually, the knuckle "armor" is in the right place, even with my long freak-hands! Got these from CL and they arrived only two days after my order conf arrived! NICE!

These guys look and feel great. Adequate padding and no sharp edged armor to scratch your face when you wipe off sweat. They do not run true to size uncomfortably small. After half-dozen rides a finger ripped out, but it could be a result of small size.

I'm giving it 3 stars because I won't get a chance to use this pair as they are too small. I measured my hand against every sizing chart I could find on D.o.G., Chainlove, Bonktownm, etc., and it appeared that I was right in the middle of the "Large" size. However when I got them they were too tight around the knuckles (to the point of discomfort) I have big, meaty paws, so this might be my problem alone.
That being said they look great and seem like they will protect the hand well. Finger grips are exceptional!
