DAKINE Split 100L Rolling Gear Bag - Women's - 6000cu in

Item # DAK1631

You could empty a storage unit into the DAKINE Women's Split Large Roller Bag and still find everything easily thanks to the split-level design. So when its time to take to the sky, pack everything you need without feeling like you have to cram thirty pounds of clothes into a ten-pound bag. Locking zippers defeat sticky-fingered airline employees, and a retractable handle makes navigating the airport or hotel a snap.

Bottom Line:

Hit paradise with 6000 cubic inches of ... everything.

Super Awesome Bag

By:
March 13, 2013

This bag is the best. Seriously couldn't have asked for a better travel bag. Was super impressed with how well it was made and how strong the fabric holds up. The inside of the bag is divided up and has room for everything. I never thought it would shut with how much I had stuffed into it, but it did, comfortably and easily. Lightweight with it being completely full. I love this bag. Dakine is awesome, and can't wait to get the other matching luggage for it!

How much does the bag weigh on its own? I've looked at different websites and they all vary from 5lbs to 14 lbs. I'd like someone who has the bag to tell me. Thanks!

great for long trips

By:
August 2, 2011

bought this right before a trip to tahoe - was able to fit in clothes/layers for a week of riding. the split makes packing easier, and its got a great cute print on the inside. super light, so that when its fully stuffed, its not hard to throw into a car. the fabric/outside of it is pretty soft, yet durable - it stands up to baggage handlers and rain/snow/spills.

Do the #DK 1709 and #DK163l womens roller bag come with line skate wheels? If not do you have any available in duffle bags.

It's close. US Airways considers 62 linear inches to be oversize and this is 62.5". Delta starts at 63". Jetblue and United at 62".

You could probably get away with it unless you really stuff the bag, but it will also be easy to stuff it until it's over the weight limit as well.

Consider leaving the industrial-strength hair dryer at home.

So far so good!

By:

I purchased this bag right before leaving for Africa. I went on many planes, trains, cars and it held up well.

The compartments inside were very nice to have, especially when I didn't have any laundry service!

Love the design and the look of the bag.

My one negative thought was when I was wheeling it around I noticed it was heavy on my arm. It is more vertical than what I am used to, so the weight distribution was different.

hi

I own two older versions of the bag, I use it for work and travel and love the bags. My question is reading other reviews is the zipper going around the outside of the bag still there. Another review said it was not it was just being held together by the straps.

Thanks
Mary

Awesome!

By:
October 23, 2011

I just got back from a 2-week overseas trip with this bag.
Pros: The bottom is hard, which will protect anything you don't want super squished. The top is soft, which will allow flexibility in packing. It's separated into compartments - one big one on the bottom and 3 smaller ones in the lid (plus the two external pockets in the lid). There are 4 handles not including the telescoping handle to roll the bag. This made it really easy to pick up and walk down flights of stairs where there weren't elevators and to pick up and throw it up in a train. There are 2 straps with quick release buckles that let you tighten down the load.
Cons: If the bag isn't full, the soft top is floppy which makes it difficult to tighten down the straps enough to secure the load. If the internal compartments aren't full the stuff shifts around because there aren't any straps inside to hold stuff, only the mesh compartment lids that zip.
Overall: I would definitely recommend this bag! I have 3 Dakine bags now, and they are all top quality material and construction. The awesome colors and patterns are a huge bonus and being able to buy last year's at a nice discount is icing on the cake!

If you need a decent water resistant bag, you will be better off with the The North Face Rolling Thunder Duffel.

Super Sized Awesomeness

By:
January 22, 2013

This bag is the ish! Super big, heavy duty and gets the job done and then some! I over pack like it's my job, so when I can find a bag that gives me more space that I can use, I know I've spent my money well. I had the color Skyler and get compliments on it all the time. Great for vacations to Tahoe and CO. Can fit multiple snowboarding jackets and pants, along with shoes, shirts, beanies, gloves...etc. There is a pocket for everything which keeps all my gear organized! Love it!

The large bag is very large so if you are only traveling for a few days and don't need to take a lot of stuff, the overhead luggage is plenty big for that kind of trip. Our teenage daughter tends to overpack when we go on vacation so she loves the large bag.

Easy to handle. It is so big I had 7 kilos extra weight, but that was because I also bought some heavy things. BUt you can fit a lot of things in this suitcase. One of the comments I had read in the reviews was that if pockets side is not full they will be very lose, but I thought this was great for making my packing easy. Probably looks prettier loaded than empty. I did not mind it. Seems to be going to be a sturdy one. So I am happy with the purchase. I think I should have gone for a bit smaller one, though. Other than that, no regrets.

I'm a huge fan of dakine luggage, but this bag is awesome! It's huge and the color is very cool, it's more purple than it shows in the picture. I'm leaving for a month and can fit everything in here!

Teenage daughter loves the new Split Roller Bag!

By:
April 14, 2011

We gave this split large roller bag to our teenage daughter as a gift and she LOVES it. We just need to make sure it doesn't weigh over 50 lbs to avoid the excess luggage charge with the airlines. The bag is nice and duarable! The extra pink on the bag helps it stand out from the rest of the black luggage at the airport!!
