This pack is wack; can't stand all the well thought out features; u should let me be the only one on the hill with it. The only part I enjoyed was buying the hydration bladder separately cuz I totally read the difference between compatible, and comes with.

I know you could probably get the probe and shovel in there no problem, but the skins may be a little tight.

Heli Pro DLX or Pro II?

I was trying to decide between this and the Heli Pro DLX Backpack. The tag on the Pro II showed that it has the vertical snowboard carry. The tag lies. The Heli Pro DLX has the vertical carry.

The Pro II has a back entry area that to get into the main compartment. The top zipper doesn't open very wide and is quite annoying. It is even more annoying if you have a hydration bladder in there because the hose will be in the way. The other pocket is nice though because it has a holder for your shovel handle and your probe to keep them organized and the shovel blade fits in there too!

I like the Heli Pro DLX better because it has the vertical snowboard carry option if you don't want to carry your board vertically, the top zipper opens as far as a normal backpack does, and has a deployable drink holder on the side. It isn't as organized withe shovel and probe as the Pro II, but the other features make it ok.

Iknow its a different color, because it is! its an older 2011 model but for its price, its great. Its alot smaller than I thought, even the big pocket is lots smaller. It has a nice pocket for a bladder, and great chest andwaist straps!

Ideal multi-use pack

By:

The size and fit makes this a brilliant pack for slack and backcountry excursions. Pack it with shovel, probe, a layer or two and some other emergency essentials and you're good to go. I've stuffed my 18L Arcteryx Silo 18 to the point of splitting just to get the bare essentials for slack country, but with this pack, I've got enough extra room for some food, repair tools, an emergency bivy and a puffy and/or midlayer. The helmet slot is excellent for secure storage during the skin up.

The diagonal ski carry is, in my opinion, much better than an aframe approach and teh cord is secure and reliable.

HIghly recommend this pack for skiers but not for snowboarders. Though it has a vertical snowboard carry capability, the Heli Pro is far superior with it's secure horizontal snowboard carry feature.

Awesome

Love this pack, it holds everything and packed full of features. Love the fact that I can carry street clothes and gear in the main compartment, have my helmet in the deployable helmet carry, goggles in the goggle pocket and strap my board on the back. The insulated water sleeve is great. Love this thing!
