Sucks

I thought this would be a sick glove since it's JP's. Turns out its not. The glove is waterproof but the inner layer isn't sowed to the gloves. When you take your hand out of the glove it messes up the fingers on the inside layer and will give you a fun time trying to get your hand back in. Got some volcom Crails and never turned back since. Why don't every pair of gloves require that the inner layer be sowed to the actual glove itself? Then you don't have to worry about having a hard time trying to fit your hand back in... pretty stupid not to do that if you ask me. In all fairness I tried it and was extremely disappointed to have a strong durable outside material but a weak and poorly constructed inner layer.Don't waste your time with this, find a different glove

I bought a pair of these in 07-08 season. After three years of abuse they are still kicking, but they have wear and tear all over them and they are starting to smell like a locker room. So, I picked up a new pair from this season and im truely happy with the modifications that Dakine did. Zipper closure is huge and ofcourse they are GORETEX which is the main reason I love these short gloves so much. Durathane palms are super wear resistant. Shred, dude brah!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ugh

I lost on of my gloves in the village at Northstar, Tahoe. So, i was forced to pay the resorts ridiculous prices, and I thought I would get a reliable glove. No, again, this glove sucked. Hard. The only reason they don't get one star is for JP. And becuase they look pretty cool, i guess. But really not a good glove.

Good low-pro everyday glove

Never had the problems with the liners coming out the other guy is talking about. Maybe Dakine fixed it? Anyway, these are pretty sick gloves. Warm enough for most days in Utah, plenty waterproof. They aren't the most durable gloves I've ever owned but they've also seen a lot of hard use. Solid for the price.

Decent, but wore out quickly

When I first got these gloves I was very impressed with the look, feel, and functionality. They were very warm, very water proof for a $60 glove, and I enjoyed the short cuff so I could take them off real quickly.

As the season progressed though they kind of fell apart. Both zippers broke off randomly, the palms tear easily (I ride a lot of trees) and much of the inner liner kept coming out. The water proofing declined significantly, and while I never even put them through the washer, I had to re-water proof the outside at least halfway through the season.

Overall, they are an OK glove for the price but for a serious rider who goes hard, does a lot of trees, and expects day-after-day use these did not stand up to the punishment. I imagine they would do fantastically for an intermediate/beginner rider, or someone who does not ride a lot of trees.

Amazing

These gloves are exceptionally warm for their thickness. Had a pair from years ago but lost them, day after I'm buying a new pair. Do not expect them to last more than 3-4 seasons though, even the ones I had were falling apart.

Overall I loved them though. Easy to get on and off and could fit my jacket right over them no problem. Perfect length down my arm to keep out the snow. ...Now to remember what size I want =\\

Good Stuff

I didn't get these for anything "outdoorsy" - just cold weather winters. I live in Indianapolis and it can get pretty cold here. Things I love about this glove is that it's low profile for how warm they are. It fits your hand pretty well. It has pile fleece on the backside of your hand and regular fleece on the palm side of your hand. One thing I don't love is that in really cold weather (single digits and teens), a short walk could get your hands kinda cold. Not super warm, but pretty decent for the price. I like them :)

JP version is simple and streamlined. Nice grip material and warm. The fit is snug even when following the size chart. Overall a great glove.
