What is a comfortable temperature range for this jacket? I am moving up to Iowa for college in the fall from a place where it hardly snows, so I'm looking for a jacket to wear in winter, when the average low (apparently) is 14 F or lower. Is it comfortable in that kind of weather when you're just walking (for example, walking from class to class at college?) instead of skiing or doing any similar exercise?

Depends on what you mean by puffy.

It is full of feathers, so it has loft and is, by definition, what everyone calls a puffy. But, it won't make you look like a marshmallow, if that's what you're going for.

I researched a lot of coats to find the best quality for the price. When I first came across this coat, I said I would never spend that much!! Upon further research and reading customer reviews, it was clear that if I was going to purchase a nice coat to last me for years to come, this was the one! I'm very pleased with the quality and the extreme warmth of this coat! The omni heat is trulely amazing! The collar has a very soft lining on the inside, comfortable on your face. The thumb holes in the sleeves keep the cold air out. Also, the coat is not big and bulky at all. In fact, it has a nice slimming effect. I definitely recommend this coat for anyone who is looking for QUALITY, STYLE, and AMAZING WARMTH!!!! It's worth every penny!!

yes it does, and the low-profile toggles are tucked away.
not only is the hood removable, the feaux-fur is removable from the hood too. my wife loves this one so much that she bought it in a second color... and she went with the white.

I absolutely LOVE this jacket. Very toasty warm. I am 5'11" with a slim build; I ordered a large and the sleeves are long enough and it's not to boxy in the body. Best coat I've every owned.

True to size. If you are between 2 sizes, go with the bigger. It doesn't look like it in the picture but this jacket flatters one's shape. I wear a 14/16 and ordered the XL. I have large hips and a butt to match and this jacket hugs my curves and keeps me warm and sexy!
