Castelli GPM Full-Zip Long Sleeve Jersey

Item # CST0651

With more subdued styling than some of the Italian company's other offerings, the Castelli GPM Full Zip Long Sleeve Jersey is the perfect choice for cooler days when you want to look and feel comfortable.

Constructed in solid colors with just a touch of grey around the wrists and neck, the GPM Jersey uses Castelli's popular Warmer fabric to produce a long sleeve jersey that insulates yet breathes to allow moisture to evaporate -- you'll stay warm and dry.

The GPM Long Sleeve Jersey comes with a full camlock zipper that stays flat when the zipper head is down as well as an elastic gripper around the back of the waist to keep the jersey from riding up while riding. Three rear pockets are spacious enough to hold spare tubes, gloves, and food, while a small zippered side pocket is perfect for your keys. Two rear reflective tabs complete the package, offering a bit of extra visibility for riding in low-light conditions.

The Castelli GPM Full Zip Long Sleeve Jersey is available in five solid colors -- Black, Cyan, Green, Red, and White. It has subtle wrist and neck detailing and an embossed tone-on-tone Castelli scorpion logo on the jersey's left shoulder. The GPM Jersey comes in six sizes from Small through XXX-Large. It's designed to be form-fitting as the technical fabrics used to construct the jersey work best when in close contact with your body. Be sure to check the sizing chart to ensure proper fit.

  • Warmer fabric provides warmth and moisture wicking to keep you comfortable
  • Silicone grippers keep the jersey in place when you're hammering
  • Three rear pockets and an additional zippered key pocket securely stow all your essentials

Bottom Line:

Excellent Winter Jersey

By:

I live in Massachusetts so the winters are pretty intense. I searched the site for a thermal jersey and only Louis Garneau has long sleeve jerseys that are labeled as "thermal". Castelli's Warmer fabric is Castellis warmest fabric evidently and IS thermal. Under 40 degrees you'll need a windproof shell but this jersey performs very well at keeping you insulated. Don't jump up too many sizes because the thermal fabric needs to be in close contact with your skin. I'm 6'3 230lbs. and wear an XL.

Castelli GPM Full-Zip Jersey - Long-Sleeve - Men's

This jersey has a great fit when you finally settle on the right size. The sizing chart suggested I was within the margins of a medium. It arrived and was way too small. The large fits me perfectly. So take the recommendation of going up a size seriously. I'm a medium in American sizes and a large in Euro sizes. That has been consistent across a number of brands, including Castelli, whether it's a bib short, jersey or jacket. The fit of this jersey is trim but comfortable. The neck and cuffs fit snug and keep out drafts. It has a nice soft feel due to the fleece inside. Very comfortable to cycle in when it gets down below 60, say. Generally, Castelli's weakest element of their garments are their zippers. This one works well so far, but it doesn't appear to have gotten any special attention from the Design Dept. I got the cool superman blue with red trim. A relatively understated design for Castelli, which I like. One of the few jersey's of theirs I feel comfortable wearing in public.

In my experience the pull tab broke the first ride on this jersey so i took a rubber gasket and looped it through for something to pull. Also the bottom, when taking it off is a bit weak as it separates before the zipper is ejected from the slot...

OK for its price.

Jersey feels warm and comfortable. XL fits well (6ft tall), but I wish it were a bit more form-fitted. The quality of the stitching seemed bad at first glance, but so far it is holding up.

Love it!

Love this jersey! The inside seems to have a light fleece that I really like. When I wear a long sleeve jersey I like it a little warmer. This jersey is it! Quality logos, zipper and the colors are eye catchers.

Sweet

Fits great. Good for my lanky body. Just order a size up like everyone is saying. I got the booger green one. You'd have to be drunk AND retarded to hit me on the road. It's simple but has enough small detail to not be completely bland. Warm enough for Southern California cold.

Crappy zipper

My pull-tab broke, too...I had to MacGyver a new one! Castelli needs to change zippers on this jersey.
As well, you have to be slim to wear Castelli stuff. We (North Americans) are not used to wearing tight fitting apparel like this. When you order up a size, the length of the body and sleeves become too long. A pro rider like Heinrich Haussler (who wears Castelli) is a medium in jersey and bibs. He is 5'10" and 160lbs.

Comfy, but zipper seemed whack...

By:

I bought these and RMA'd them after deciding I wasn't crazy about the zipper and the jersey itself. I purchased the large ones in red. The zipper construction seemed cheap and wasn't solid like I've seen and felt in other products including Castelli.

As for the fit, Im 5'10", 155lbs, 32-33" waist with an arm length of 32/33. They seemed to be a bit long in the arms. I believe they would offer plenty of arm coverage for when you're hammering in the drops. The fleece material inside seems really comfortable and the jersey otherwise felt snug.

Just because I wasn't crazy about it doesn't mean you will be too. I love Castelli products but this one just wasn't for me. Hope this helps.
