Campagnolo Record 11 Front Derailleur - 2009 BCS
Of all the componentry in the Campagnolo Record 11 gruppo, none bears a greater resemblance to its Super Record 11 equivalent as the Record 11 Ultra Shift front derailleur. In a nutshell, it's absolutely identical to Super Record, save the fact that it comes with standard alloy hardware instead of titanium hardware. The weight difference here is minimal -- only 3g. Campagnolo suggests that the benefit of the Ti hardware on the Super Record goes beyond weight savings, but that there's a corrosion-resistance upside, too. We'll let you be the judge. The Record 11 front derailleur weighs 75g in a braze-on configuration. It comes available as braze-on, 31.8mm clamp-on, and 34.9mm clamp-on. This derailleur is compatible with both standard and compact cranksets.
The same 11 speed/10 speed cross-compatibility rules in effect for Super Record also hold true here. The Record 11 front derailleur performs best with Campagnolo's 11 speed componentry. Since the Ultra Shift 11 shifting travel is wider by one click than the 2008 Quick Shift 10 speed travel, mixing an 11 speed shift lever with a 10 speed front derailleur leads to sub-optimal functionality.
The actual weights of the Campagnolo Record 11 Front Derailleur: braze-on is 74g. 31.8 is 87g. 34.9 is 88g.
Bottom Line:
Quick, exact shifting.
