Black Diamond Guide Glove - Men's - 2010 BCS

Item # BLD1197

For deep-winter ski days and stormy mountaineering ascents, the Black Diamond Men’s Guide Glove excels in cold backcountry conditions where dexterity is paramount. The Guide’s durable stretch-woven nylon and goat leather shell act as a first line of defense, while the removable insert featuring a Gore-Tex waterproof breathable membrane and PrimaLoft One insulation stops harsh conditions before they reach your hand. A wool and fleece lining wick moisture and add a soft touch, and EVA foam inserts protect you from knuckle-bashing ice and tree branches.

Bottom Line:

Hard-charging protection for the coldest of days.

Could one to use the liner for ski touring and ice climbing?

Could one to use the liner for ski touring and ice climbing? I'd like a warm glove that has a liner that can be used for these purposes.

Carefull on size

Tried a friends last year for a few ski runs and loved them, kept my hands nice a toasty on a cold 10 F day. Unfortunately I did not take note of the size. When I saw them on SAC I quickly measured my hand and ordered as suggested on the size chart. My hand measured 8 1/2 length by 8 1/2 for the width so I ordered the medium as suggested. Too small. Great return policy and luckily on sale on DOG for a few bucks more. I was able to try on the Large and XL. Note that this glove is made for the hand to be in a slightly gripping posture. When I tried the Large, my fingers were still lightly hitting the ends of the glove, and I was not able to put a liner on and still fit in the glove comfortably. I probably could have stuck with Large, it may have stretched a little over time, but I would not be able to use a liner. I went with the XL. Im not swimming in it but I can fit a liner glove if needed and fingers have ~1/2'' or less wiggle at the ends. BD rates these as −20F to 10F

So after wearing a few times, the fingers are good but the palm ended up being to wide. I should have got the large. (lucky for me they fit my friend...)
Still give these 5 stars because they would be perfect if I would have got the correct size.
