Make a fist and hold it above the ground so your elbow is at 90 degrees and your forearm is parallel with the ground. Measure the distance between your fist and the ground and you'll have an idea of which size range you fall into...but I'd guess you'd be a small.

Good trekking pole

This is a light weight pole with great Flick Lock action. This pole is adjustable on the walk and is collapsible enough to disappear into a side pocket when not in use. Despite the light weight, it felt solid enough to bare my weight when leaning up against.

My problem with this pole was the size of the basket. The basket is permanently attached and is pretty small. There were multiple times when the basket slipped between two rocks and was lodged in there as I walked past. I would also have liked to have the ability to put a bigger basket on for travel over snow. This is a minor complaint, but something to think about. If you know you are going to be traveling primarily on snow then I would find a pole with bigger baskets.

Overall though, I loved traveling with this pole.(Note: I hike with only one pole to cut weight even further)

These are a nice alternative, also made by black diamond, which feature removable snow cups and the same flick lock system:

Currently, there are no bigger baskets designed for these poles - possibly in the coming fall months though.

Neat, but not essential

These are great trekking poles. I like how small and light they are and the fact that they're still adjustable. Pretty sturdy like most aluminum poles as well. However, I wouldn't necessarily run out and trade in your old poles for these. It does look like it will be easy enough to replace a section (with a special order from BD) if/when it bends or breaks. One draw back is the size of the basket. As of yet, I don't believe there are any larger baskets designed for the pole, but we'll see what BD comes up with this fall when the snow starts falling!
