Wore these socks hiking in Alasaka. As expected, they dried quickly and held their elasticity...admittedly they were brand new, so you'd expect that. Definitely worth the expense if your planning to be slogging it out in the outdoors and need your feet to stay healthy..

Love these socks and for the price they really can't be beat! In particular, I love the padding that's really tailored to right where you need it because of the L/R specific socks. Love the color too. They probably are a little hotter than some socks but these are the ones that I reach for even when hiking or backpacking in the desert because they're the most comfortable hiking socks I've found.
I was a little worried when I first got them that they would be too big because I have small (size 6) feet but they shrunk a little in the wash and have been fine after a cycle in the laundry.
I'd love to pick up a couple more packs of these!!! Any idea

these socks are so awesome i don't want to wash them and risk losing them to the 'sock basket'.
Very Nice When Paired Right

The Merino Composite Trail Sock does very well when it comes to impact absorption and overall comfort. They are a little on the thick side so pair these with a medium to larger fitting shoe/boot and can be a bit warm in the hottest temperatures.

What is the sizing chart on these socks?
Are they unisex? Is the small suitable for a women's size 7.5?

Just good socks

These are great socks! They warm enough to get you started at the beginning of the day yet they breath well enough that you can keep using 'em throughout the day. Sizes are what they say they are (better than other brand I bought).

I bought this sock for my wife, and she wont wear anything else now. It is a great sock for hiking, or for anything else you might want to do. Great color too.

My favorite socks for hiking and trail running. Love the left, right specific sock cushioning but...I've already started being visited by the laundry sock monster. Quality sock but they do shrink some in dryer. Even with that s/m works great for a size 8.5 women
goats on the socks

quaility sock that is padded just enough for an everyday hiker. breathes well and has the goat plastered all over, what is there not to love about that.

I've always loved my original backcountry wool socks, and needed some more, and find these to be a good equivalent. They are lighter, and stretchier, and being right and left, offer more specific padding. I've been using them for skiing, working on the ski patrol, and as good as they are for that, I'm sure they'll be great for hiking this summer too.
great winter socks

I've been wearing these on frigid runs in the snow. Awesome, warm and stay in place. Keep warm even when wet, and don't stretch out. No blisters or anything either

These are great socks. My husband got me the 3-pack for Christmas and so far I've worn them almost every day. They're too short for hiking in the cold weather, in my opinion, so I'll have to wait for the weather to warm up before I use them for a lot of hiking. I've actually been wearing these for running socks even though they're thicker than regular running socks. They've been working great for me for cold-weather running; I just have to lace up my shoes a little looser than usual. The color, lavendar, looks just like in the picture. Not my favorite color, but I guess it doesn't matter for socks.

I have used this sock all summer hiking. Very well made, just a bit short for me. Have used them with and without inner sock.

These are the ideal socks for any activity. They fit well, are very comfortable, and keep your feet warm and dry. They are padded in all the right places and the perfect thickness in the all other areas. You cannot have too many pairs.
Good for trail

Nice socks for trail hiking (cushioned enough and comfortable) but not the best at wicking for moisture if you're looking for a cross-purpose use as a lighter, cooler, running sock in the summer months. Colors are as in picture and look nice. ;)

So far I love all socks that backcountry makes and these are just another pair I love. They feel great on my feet. Just the right thickness and padding in all the right spots. I'll wear them hiking and biking.

These are my favorite socks among all of the socks that Backcountry.com sells. The top panel is very thin and slides nicely in a shoe - preventing hotspots, etc. Great mix of synthetic and wool - so far I've worn them most every day for about a month and done quite a bit of hiking and they are not wearing out like merino socks tend to do.
