Backcountry.com Energy Belt - 2009 BCS
The Backcountry.com Energy belt wears its heart on its buckle. The belt’s buckle reads—Keep hiking, earn your turns—and we hope the tattoo on your heart reads the same. This nylon-reinforced belt won’t show wear after months of abuse, and the bombproof construction form our collaborating friends over at Spacecraft and their amazing manufacturing facility in Bali will probably outlast whatever trousers you’re wearing.

Whether it's climbing mountains or flying to the other side of the world, please John, keep your pants on!

This is a great belt. Very strong, and well built. It is very good looking. It is a little bit wide, so it doesn't fit in some narrow belt loops. But I love mine.

What is the width of the belt? Just wanna make sure it will fit the loops on my ski pants. Thanks.

Awesomely versatile belt that holds up to a lot of abuse. My main ski belt, trekking belt, and fun times belt that actually can be thrown in the wash. Durable, strong, with an encouraging message etched in. I'm 5'8 female with medium build and the small is perfect.

This is a killer belt. Waist is a 32 and I got a medium. The belt has 10 belt holes and I have 5 left. It is surprisingly light and about. Its 1.5 inches wide.

I'm looking for a belt for ski pants. My waist is 38. Is this belt long enough?

If you read the reviews, people in the 32-34 waist size generally find the medium fit them well, with room to spare. One reports the small was stamped 26-30, so extrapolate that to 30-34 medium, 34-38 large. So, based on that detective work, it seems this would work for you. And, always an easy return in any event.

Easy 5 stars

This belt is to cool for words. Strong belt and looks even better, little stiff at first takes some breaking in cause its got a thick double layer design. My friends all want one now.
34-35 <> Large
January 6, 2010
Sweet belt but sizing is off. I'm a measured 34-35 waist (not just randomly guessing based off pants/shorts/etc) and went w/ the large first (34-38 it said), and it was way big. I switched out for a medium (allegedly for 30-34 waist) and its perfect...4 holes left going one way, and 5 the other. The length of the medium excluding buckle is 41". As others have noted: its wide, padded, comfortable and seems durable.

Great belt. Just the right width. I'm a 33"-34" waist and all that was available was a large. I'm on the last notch of the belt. Wish they had a medium.

Does the job and so far has been very durable through everyday use, hiking, biking, etc. I have a 34" waist and I am on the final (smallest sizing) of the L so the M is probably ideal for my size.
Holds up my pants
July 12, 2011
This belt holds my pants up. It also looks cool and takes forever for the Little metal rings to rip out (although they will eventually). One of the more durable belts I've found for the price. Good for months of skiing/working, depending on how rough you are on... your belts.

This is a sick looking belt. The writing on my buckle is different though, says "Grab here, use as a whip". Quality. I'm a 34" waist, should've gotten large but the medium just about works too!
Ski belt became my only belt
March 27, 2011
Solid construction, durable, and killer style and graphic. I love this thing and have been wearing it on almost a daily basis since September. 6 months and my only gripe is that it's a little wide and makes for a tight loop fit on some jeans. Beyond that very small thing this belt is sick!

Its a little big for using as an everyday Belt, but for the slopes, when you have layers on it works perfect. The Design is great I absolutely Love it.
The size comes as a 34-38

This belt is awesome!! Made better then any belt I found at the local mall and a lot cheaper. Works great.
January 29, 2011
This a solid belt that I wear with jeans and my ski pants. Haven't had any problems with it. I ordered the Medium for my skinny 30 waist. I have several loops on either side. I'm happy with it considering its not too expensive for a belt that will hold up to a lot of abuse. Rock on BC!

Bit disappointed, the belt that came was very small, I didn't see a size choice when I ordered it. It fit my wife so I guess somebody likes it.
January 11, 2011
It's waterproof and holds up your pants, what more could you ask for.
December 27, 2010
Great price and fit on this belt, i wear it all the time.
solid and simple
December 28, 2010
light and comfy all you need to keep your pants up. I use it everyday but also a great belt to hold up my ski pants and unlike typical leather belts it's not stiff and doesn't stretch and crack over time
October 16, 2010
This belt is good for ski pants and jeans. It's durable and cool!
June 15, 2010
I simply can't ski without this belt. It's held up phenomenally after a year, showing NO signs of wear after 100+ days in all sorts of conditions.
June 9, 2010
love it. really cool belt. looks great, fit is great (and true to whatever size belt you usually get). get lots of compliments on it. highly recommended.
What Else Can Be Said?

Bought the Medium. I wear a 32, tons of holes for adjustability.
Wore it skiing all winter and wear it every day to work.
It's a Rad Belt
April 7, 2010
This belt is pretty basic and yet rad at the same time. It's not leather so it can get wet. And the buckle and fabric are super durable so you can wear for any activity.
March 24, 2010
Have this belt and it is both heavy duty and stylish. Very satisfied. Fit's just as it says....
March 9, 2010
This belt is great. It's thick enough to hold up ski pants and looks good enough to wear with jeans everyday. The buckle is solid and the engravings on the bc belt buckles are a nice addition. It is removable though if you want to alternate buckles. The sizing on the small is stamped on the inside, 26"-30".
February 10, 2010
Don't listen to what people say about the size. Everyone scared me away from going with the size I should have gone with, a large. It's the size they recommend and is the right size. Now I have to ship it back and return because I listened to the reviews.
The belt though is much cooler looking then the picture makes it out to be and looks very durable. I'll be exchanging, not returning.
February 6, 2010
Awesome belt! Great for skiing/boarding or everyday wear. Very durable and very stylish.
January 14, 2010
Nothing fancy here but a really cool belt that is bomb proof and looks pretty stylie. I also have the tramdock belt and sport these with pride. They work well for ski pants or any pants and I plan on having these for awhile.
Collect them all.
December 30, 2009
I have been collecting these from all of the BC sites and I have to say that they are some of my favorite belts. They are high quality and stylish. Good work BC, keep them coming.
December 30, 2009
This belt rocks! Its built like a tank, I have a feeling I'll have this one for years to come!
December 8, 2009
So rad, and considering all the hardware attached to it making it look bomber, it is super light and comfortable. This is a perfect belt for the ski pants or other gear as it is tough and durable. A great gift or personal splurge.
November 13, 2009
Looks great, fits great, and is always fun to show off the Backcountry gear! I wear 32" jeans and got a Medium. It fits great.
Go with the goat!!
November 20, 2009
Siick belt, I wear a 32 and a medium fits great, the graphic looks real good in person
November 3, 2009
I'm catching up on all my reviews today, and I have this belt and LOVE it, the quality is amazing it's made my spacecraft and you can tell. The graphics are ergo and the holes never wear out. I have a small waist and there are plenty of extra holes to keep this belt on me!. I would highly suggest this belt over any big named brands out there.
November 5, 2009
Good belt. I like the logo. I have 32 pants, and the medium fits perfect.
backcountry belt ski pants belt
September 9, 2009
i wore this belt on a backcountry tour through europe to hold up my softshell pants. i HATE when the backpack pushes my pants down, and i look like a gangster out there. this belt was awesome. lightweight, and stays dry, burly buckle that is cast metal and solid. The germans i met in the Chanrion hut loved it too, and wondered where you might be able to get a belt so rad.
Add to you your inbounds ski pants. add to your softshell pants (the cool softshell pants that has belt loops). it just may save your life someday.
