Arc'teryx Covert Hoody - Women's

Item # ARC0708

Love sleek design lines that compliment your curves instead of covering your torso with the dreaded box look? Welcome to the Arc’teryx Women’s Covert Hooded Fleece Jacket. The clean, casual cut of this hoody goes easy on the eyes, while the Polartec Thermal Pro fabric insulates on winter days. Gusseted underarms keep the hem of this jacket down when you lift your arms, and unlike some gussets, the design also reduces bulk so you won’t feel like you’re smuggling gerbils in your armpits. Pull up the close-fitting scuba hood and let the fast-wicking performance take care of you when it gets hot on the mountain or in town.

Bottom Line:

Go under sleek Arc’teryx cover.

Great fleece

This is a wonderful product that does the job to keep me warm. Fits well too without having the bulky fleece look. Very soft and have recieved many compliments on it.

I love hiking in the winter snow here in the mountains of New Mexico, but I like a lightly longer jacket, almost a car coat type. I'm looking for this 3/4 length in Polartec fleece, a medium weight like 200. Any hints where I can find it?

Hi Jene- I am not sure what you are asking, where you can find this jacket in NM? If you are looking for a strictly fleece type, you might be more interested in the new Soltera and/or Solita, since they are both designed as hip length...

Hoody

By:
November 21, 2008

I bought one of these 4 years ago and it looks exactly the same. I bought this one with a hood and it is already pilling, after only 3 weeks. This was a great disappointment and shows lower quality when moving your company from Canada to China. Even worse, its more expensive than my first one.

How is the zipper on the hoody?
Does it cover your chin and irritate it? Or does it hit below your chin....?

My Go To Jacket

By:
February 25, 2010

I bought this jacket a couple of years ago and it STILL rocks. It washed well and it still looks pretty new! I wear the heck out of it. I just wanted to provide this because buying this jacket is an investment, and it has paid off. Sizing was also right on. Not always what I find from ArcTeryx.

Jacket pills, but Arc'Teryx warranty is really great

By:
December 9, 2009

I just called them yesterday, and they will replace mine with a new one, that shouldn't pill. I was surprised too, given the cost of the jacket. I still love the jacket, it's the only one I wear almost every day in the fall/winter. The cut and fit is great!

Is the Covert Arc'teryx jacket water resistant like the Hercules jacket?

No. The Hercules is one of the Arcteryx hardface fleece jackets which is DWR treated. This is a standard thermal pro fleece so it isn't going to be very water-resistant.

Great Jacket!

By:
March 21, 2011

I love this jacket and have it in few colors. It is very functional, stylish, and cozy jacket. It is a mid weight jacket and extremely comfy. You can not go wrong with it. Absolutely worth the price.

Dying to purchase this hoody, but every review reflects pilling of the fabric. Anyone tested the 2009/2010 shipments?

There was a bad batch of Polartec fabric that was discovered during 08/09. The fabric on current pieces should be back to highest quality, and not subject to pilling. My older one is going on 4 years old, lots of wear, and very minimal pills.

Stylish & warm but TOO SHORT!

By:
February 2, 2011

I have this jacket with gray/black zips, not pink. I like it except for one major flaw - it is WAY too short and barely hits below the belly button... I wear low-rise pants and so it's very uncomfortable to have that gap; I like when jackets have some overhang to keep drafts out. It's really warm and it great as a layering piece under a heavier jacket on really cold, snowy days. My jacket is an XS (I'm 5'6", 110lbs) and everything else fits wonderfully but the lack in length. Also, keep it away from your felines and canines or you can expect to be lint-rolling the heck out of it!

I want to get this hoody for my girlfriend. She usually wears a small in almost everything, but i remember she tried on an Arc'teryx jacket in a store and i thought she said medium fit her the best. She is about 5'6" and about 115 lbs. Do any girls out there know which size might fit her the best? Thanks!

I would have said Small. It might be more dependent on her bust size -- I'm 5'7", 140 lbs, 36C and I wear a Medium.

pilling will be covered under warranty, and is probably due to a bad batch of fabric from Polartech. I've had mine for a couple years with almost no pilling

The Arc'teryx site doesn't say anything about the material not pilling. I checked the Polartec site as well, it doesn't say it either. I think mine started pilling right after I washed it the first time.

I bought this jacket about one year ago. Although I did not wear it often, the seam unraveled. Can i send it back? (I live in germany but you could send a new or repaired one to an address in the US.) I dont have the bill of the jacket, it is not on my account, maybe I bought it from my daughtrs account. So: what can i do? Thank you

If you can find the order history on an account or the receipt or the email with the order number, then you can return it. Otherwise they can't take it on faith that you bought it here.Arc'teryx has a lifetime warrantee for manufacturing defects. I would go to www.arcteryx.com to get in touch with their customer service department. They may be able to help you.

nice one!

By:
November 24, 2010

i just got this in the mail yesterday and so performance testing has yet to take place. however, i will say that the fleece on the inside is SO SOFT and it's a very flattering fit. I am only 5'4" so the length is ok on me, but i've seen it on others and find it short. i love the hood, and will wear this with a base layer underneath. for $99 this was a helluva deal.

Bummer

By:
February 22, 2010

I have an Arc'teryx rain jacket that fits perfectly. But not this jacket. It was too short in the arms and short to my waist. I was bummed. But Backcountry did and amamzingly fast exchange and helped me to order something I am happy with.

I have had this jacket for about a month. It's great by it's self, the fit is perfect. But it's also a great item for layering. Not to mention how good backcountry does with customer service!

There is much to love of the Arc'Teryx Covert Hoody. I absolutely love the fit, the soft fabric, the warmth, the color.
It isn't a lint magnet like many of my other fleeces, and just looks nicer than traditional fleece. But don't mistake it for a softshell or great outer layer. As described, it has no wind protection. I just layer a light shell over it for those days. I could easily wear mine every day and get tons of compliments on it.

Welcome to Comfytown

I bought this hoody in a Meduium green tea. It is quite lovely - professional enough to wear to work, yet warm and functional for the weekend. I would give it 5 stars if Arc'teryx had stuck with manufacturing in Canada not China.

Yikes

By:
October 17, 2008

I had to send this fleece back as it wasn't warm enough. Also, it was made very cheaply. The other arcteryx products I've seen have always been made beautifully, but this one is made in China and not consistent with the usual Canadian quality. It was also too short for wearing it for anything but casual use, and wouldn't be very good for even layering because of lack of warmth and length. In the end, this fleece isn't worth the money for active wear, but is cute for casual use, and the colors are truly beautiful.
