Give the sharp bite of winter the slip when you zip up the Arc’teryx Women’s Covert Cardigan. This cozy sweater’s Polartec fabric feels soft like fleece and keeps you warm like wool. Functional design like underarm gussets give you full range of motion for an alpine climb while the Covert’s style fits into any mountain town. This breathable, quick-drying gem insulates you without letting clamminess set in. Hand pockets keep your digits toasty and a laminated sleeve pocket lets you stash your lip balm and some spending money.
I am normally a size small but got this in a medium and it fits great. The inside is super soft fleece (I want to wear it over a t-shirt with nothing else underneath, its soooo very soft). Im not sure what technical use there is for this jacket but I love it as a casual jacket to just walk around in. I wouldt recommend it as a cold weather jacket or a shell but thats also not what its meant for. I have it in Poppy which is a lovely reddish color and in basmati which is an off white cream color (not much of a fan of the basmati).
If you don't like traditional fleece jackets, give this a try. It is much better looking--fleecy inside, more like a sweater on the outside. I have many Arcteryx jackets--Alpha SL, Alpha LT, Beta SL, Atom--all size small. I had read that the Covert Cardigan is a slim fit, so I ordered a medium. I'm very happy with the fit. It fits more like a jacket than a sweater. I'm sure I could wear the small, but I prefer a looser fit, with room for a couple of light layers underneath. If you like a slim fit, go with your regular size. For a more relaxed fit, size up.
Got this in a couple of colors for my wife and she digs it so much that about everyone in the family has now picked one up. Fit is true to size and the jacket is super warm and even blocks wind ok (better than a plain polartec fleece but nothing like a softshell). The bud is my favorite color option.
I love the Arcteryx brand and quality of their products. You pay a bit more for them, but it is totally worth the extra $$$'s. This jacket has nice styling and a good fit. The fleece does not pill or shed like cheaper brands. Seams are solid. And I love the selection of colors. Makes a great liner under your shell for cold ski days. Also great on it's own as a jacket or sweater for around town. I plan to buy more colors.
The Covert is a great midlayer. It is considered a 200 weight fleece which is mid-weight. Another consideration for a layering fleece is the Arc'teryx Strato, it's a bit closer fitting and has low-profile stretch cuffs.
This is my third Arc'teryx Covert Cardigan. Nice enough towear with a winter skirt or wool slacks, serious enough to wear for fun in cold temperatures. Washes and wears beautifully.
I have three of the covert cardigans-purpura, black and celadron..I love the fact that they actually fit me(100# and 4'11"). They are very stylish and fit well underneath a shell. The fit for me is more form-fitted so they are low profile enough to go underneath my shell jackets. They are not wind resistant nor windproof so if it is windy out you will need a windproof shell over the top. I have not washed them more than once thus far so I cannot attest to the "piling issue" others have experienced. Since they are guaranteed for life they can be sent back to Arc Teryx for warranty work.

I bought my first cardigan in off white - loved the color and fit - however, it pilled very easily. So, what did I do? I bought another one in the brown color. It did the same thing and at $175.00 a piece, I not only made one mistake, I made two! Great fit, but it pills too quickly. Not worth the investment.
Same thing happened to mine. I love, love, love it - but know I need to spend about 10 min picking off the pills b4 I can wear it. I've tried hand washing, drip drying.... Still pills.
The fit is on the short side in both the length of the body and the sleeves, order a size up. The wind rips right through this jacket. It is definitely a pretty wearing piece, not a stand alone jacket to keep you warm. It functions well under a hardshell as an insulating layer.
I really like the shape and feel and look of this jacket. It is great under a shell and it is nice just to wear for everyone to see because it looks so good. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because wind goes right through it like it's not even there. I didn't buy this for a wind breaker by any means, but I wasn't expecting the wind to go through it so easily.
I bought one couple of years ago. I loved it so much that I bought few more in different color, some with hoody and some without. I love the quality, colors and style of this jacket. I wore them many many times and after many washes they look absolutely brand new. I hang dry them and they dry out in a flash.
Very good looking sweater. Light enough I wouldn't consider a jacket, but I wear it indoors for teaching in the winter here in Wyoming. Expensive for what you get. I received it as a gift, would not have purchased fro myself. It sarted pilling within a year.
I have this jacket in basmati and love it! It fits true to size and is the perfect balance between a classy/city jacket and a jacket that fits well and is very warm. I wear it almost everyday! The only downside is the pockets are set kind of high and the zippers are almost in the chest area.
I wear this all of the time. It's perfect for chilly mornings and evenings. I was wearing my husband's so he finally got me my own. I bought it in the orange color and it's great. Not too bright, it's a bit heathered with some red in it.
This fleece jacket is very warm. The fit is regular, but the jacket itself is short. I wear it all the time and have fount a bit of pilling around the sleeve cuffs. I would definitely buy another!
But this one I had hoped would be neutral and it's just on the side of sagey green. Tough to match. Had to go for the raisin instead. Not such a bad choice; that looks like Dr. Pepper!
Arc'teryx makes a great fitting cardigan. It's very lightweight and makes a good base layer, but also stands alone surprisingly well. Well made and the raisin is a great color, too!
This is very warm and well made jacket. It is more of a boxy fit than fitted. I am 5'4" 140 lb with a short torso so the Large fits me slightly loosely without looking baggy and is extremely comfortable. The color is not as shown on the screen. I originally ordered the jade but it looks like a green M & M. I returned it for the cornflower and really like the blue color. It is a two-tone jacket and the darker tone is darker than shown on the computer. I highly recommend.
