ALPS Mountaineering Phoenix 4 Tent 4-Person 3-Season - 2011 BCS
The intuitive design of the ALPS Mountaineering Phoenix 4 Tent offers you maximum shelter for you and three of your closest friends. When the skies are clear, ditch the fly and count constellations through the roof vents. If Mother Nature gets feisty, buckle on the fully weatherproof polyester fly and hunker down for a game of cards. After all, it takes more than a bit of weather to ruin your fun.
- Easy assembly pole clips allow for quick and easy assembly in the field
- Mesh roof vents let you breathe fresh air and stargaze all at the same time
- Factory sealed fly and floor seams optimize wet weather protection
- Extra guy-outs on fly help to fully stabilize the tent in windy weather
- Comes with two vestibules for gear storage and extra protection
- Two doors, both with zippered mesh windows, provide easy access to the outside world
- Buckle-on fly is easy to adjust and provides full-coverage rain protection for the big storm
- Extra large #8 zippers resist wear and tear
Bottom Line:
Wet weekend foretasted? That's not a problem for this bomber three-person tent.

Took this tent up to the Porcupine Mts in the UP (Michigan, Superior Shore) Oct 7-9th. Weather for this time of year was unusually great so we didn't get to put the tent through its paces yet, but setup was easy and quick even in the dark. (We set the tent up once at home which I would suggest doing.) Tent has a lot of vestibule space which was great for changing in/out of shoes with no mess in the tent. I brought extra tie-downs and stakes with for the bottom center loops. Didn't need them, but added them just in case of extreme winds. Wind was high coming off the lake but the tent held on nicely. Alps seems to keep a similar design but different name for each year's model. A little puzzled by this, but may be useful if down the road you need replacement parts or are looking for other reviews.
Great tent, very flat roof which may not be suited for snow conditions.
Change me.
