66 North Iceland Vatnajokull Jacket - Men's - 2010 BCS
Staying warm isn't easy in Iceland. The folks at 66 North have it figured out, though. Layering is the key. The Men's Vatnajokull Jacket has a slim, athletic cut that makes it ideal for layering under shells when the weather gets nasty. This wind and water-resistant mid-layer is made with polartec Wind Pro in the body and Wind Pro Stretch in the sleeves to give you full range of motion and a clean fit with no bunching. Excellent breathability and microfiber suede trim help your body manage moisture, and the pockets provide ventilation if you start to overheat.

This is everything I could want in a fleece jacket. It is very warm, no comparison to my old TNF equivalent weight or heavier. I get cold easily in the mountains since the temp here is about 70F year round, but not anymore. As others have mentioned, they run smaller than most brands, euro fit. I'm 5'9" 160 and the medium is a perfect fit, very formfitting which I wanted, with one baselayer under. It is a little short too, but the ergo arms keep it from riding up. If you try to do anything mildly active when the temperature is above 50 or so, you will likely overheat. It is perhaps a little less breathable than expected, but a fair trade-off for wind resistance. It keeps the wind out when I am riding up to about 25mph. Every detail of this jacket is well thought out and high quality. Luckily I have not had the same problem with the collar, which is extra thick but easily foldable in my experience. This is my go to jacket for leaving the house in the mountains around freezing. Also fairly water resistant considering, would probably take a while to wet out. The pockets are a little small. Also a very good looking casual piece, lots of compliments. Nice to wear something that you don't see everyday around town.
Could the description/pics possibly be more confusing? There is "hunter green" and "hunter green II" both of which appear to be black on my calibrated monitor, and then "loden green" which looks like a medium brown. Also "microfiber suede trim"....really? I don't see any of that in the pics....and the jacket I tried on at a store a while back didn't have any either. Also, the patches on the shoulder and elbows is Polartec Powershield....not windpro stretch.

I really liked this fleece. It is warm, fits great. I really liked the double zipper. I liked everything about this fleece except for one thing -- the collar. It is very short. This means that it doesn't protect you too much against the cold/wind. I'm ok with that. The problem is that you can't fold it so that it stays down.
I found myself having to manually fold it down multiple times because it kept rubbing my cheek. It was very annoying. I realize that it sounds like a trivial thing, but it made it very distracting and ultimately uncomfortable to wear.
